Lower Pine Ridge Tunnel at MP 193.5, North Portal. This is longest, 2211
feet, of 17 tunnels in 11 miles, on the Loops.
The Last
Spike: February 9, 1990, re-enactment of driving of the last spike on
the Clinchfield Railroad.

Club Picnic: The 1987 club picnic at the Fishery Park. The video
quality has now been "cleaned" and is a major improvement compared to the first
version.

Excursion #1: Going through
the Clinchfield Yard at Erwin, TN, September 1987, headed to Marion, NC. Three
"Southern" engines pulling 20 coaches identified with names of the L&N, N&W, ACL
and Amtrak.
Excursion#2: ---at Johnson City, TN. The consist was the N&S 152, a 4-6-2,
with 2 southern diesels, plus 18 coaches with names as above plus "New York
Central". The 152 was originally purchased by the L&N in 1905. It is a Pacific
Class, high wheel locomotive and was used on the Birmingham to Mobile, AL. route
for passenger service. Ed Johnson was the conductor on that route and later
joined the Clinchfield in 1914.
Conductor:
The club's excursion conductor 1981 until 1996. Starting in
1996, Amtrak was the excursion carrier and supplied their own crews.
